In depth

Verdict

Porridge was beaten 20 lengths when third at Ayr last month so it will be a surprise if this doesn't go to one of several nicely-bred newcomers. College Green may need more time but Keith Reveley's Irish Chaperone is a half-brother to three winners on the Flat and Plus Jamais is closely related to winning jumpers Sa Suffit and Saveiro. GOGEO probably has more speed in his pedigree than his rivals however and, given Alan Swinbank's remarkable strike rate in bumper races here, the Val Royal gelding gets the vote.
