In depth
Verdict
ALGAFFAAL was sent off favourite at Newcastle for his racecourse debut but just failed to catch the winner and this extra furlong will suit the Haggas colt. He has Why We Dream, rated 79, to beat in this and the latter went close at Goodwood before struggling in the Sandringham at Ascot. Gamesters Icon has a bit to find on these terms back in novice company while Play Mate looks a likely improver and Joie De Vivre is preferred to Bin Makfi of the newcomers.
