Verdict
BUFORD (NAP), who showed little in three all-weather starts at the backend of last year, stepped up markedly in trip at Doncaster on Saturday and landed a nice touch. He goes unpenalised for this and can complete a quick double. Act Of Magic is very consistent and was winning for the fourth time at Ripon for which he's only been raised 2lb while Detective has had his last five starts here, winning three times over 1m1f. He'll need to demonstrate he stays the trip but Idilico has no problems with the distance having won over hurdles.
