Verdict

W SIX TIMES (NAP) avoids a penalty for his victory at Ayr on Tuesday where he ground out a victory in a moderate contest. This is a slight step up in class but with conditions in his favour he can go in again. Newyearsresolution gained a surprise victory in a poor handicap at Wetherby last month but it wouldn't take much more to get involved here from 5lb higher. Cleve Cottage, who was beaten almost ten lengths into third in that latter event, may get closer over the shorter trip on the revised terms but Golans Choice has never won under Rules and still looks high enough in the weights. Raid Stane won four races between the flags but has yet to reach a place in ten starts under Rules.
