      Verdict

      Mark Johnston’s debutant La Casa Tarifa has a host of entries and is respected but Karl Burke has a decent record with his two year olds at this course and MEDICI BANCHIERE (NAP) looks the one to beat. He took a while to get the hang of things at York on debut and hung left but was only bettered close home and that experience should set him straight for this much easier contest. Major Jumbo performed with credit from a poor draw at Beverley first time out and looks the likeliest challenger.

      Medici Banchiere 33-1 (9-2) Slowly into stride, behind, hung left from halfway, headway over 1f, every chance when drifted badly left inside final furlong, just failed, 2nd of 9, hd behind Kananee (9-8) at York 5f stks (3) gd in May.

      Redrosezorro 14-1 (9-5) Soon outpaced and ran green in mid-division, ridden 1f out, never able to challenge, lost place inside final furlong, 9th of 10, 9 1/2l behind Mehmas (9-5) at Chester 5f mdn stks (3) gd in May.
