Manatee Bay won this race last year off the same mark but his unfortunate habit of losing ground at the start is off-putting and, though Fast Shot has slipped back down the handicap he flopped badly when sent off as favourite at Pontefract last time. FINAL VENTURE looked to have something in hand when scooting up at Hamilton and in this company should be able to defy a 6lb rise. The much-travelled Fuwairt shaped with promise in a first-time hood at Doncaster and looks to be the main threat, though Meandmyshadow goes well at this course and can also make the frame.
