DAZZLING LIGHT is taken to claim this lucrative prize, with the well handicapped Aureate and progressive Joe Jo Star the main dangers. Aureate is 11lbs lower than when soundly beaten in a Chester handicap, but since then he has taken a Southwell claimer and been runner-up in a similar contest. He has ability and is proven over the trip, and will appreciate the good surface. A 13lb rise for a recent win, would in contrast, seem to put Joe Jo Star a little high in the handicap, but he has progressed well, winning two of his last three on the level, and finishing off his hurdling campaign with a terrific win in the Swinton hurdle at Haydock. He can reach the frame. Dazzling Light overcame trouble in running to belatedly lose his maiden tag at Musselburgh recently, showing a good turn of foot to get up near the line. His previous run was a solid effort when runner-up in a York handicap, and lightly raced, he looks open to further improvement. Dazzling Light may be too bright for the opposition.
