Verdict
An excellent contest here for this feature race at Carlisle. Young Thruster is taken by TEAMtalk to continue the recent good form of trainer Nigel Twiston-Davies. The nine-year-old was at the top of his game without winning at the backend of last season and has some useful form under these conditions. Solway Rose was doing his best racing towards the end of last season including over this course and distance and has the ability to reward backers at decent odds. However last season he took a couple of races to come to hand and it could be the same this season. Fandango De Chassy combined both hurdling and chasing last season and fared well at both. He will need to improve on racecourse form to land this but he ran well for a long way last time out at Market Rasen and should give a good account of himself here. Impertio is a frustrating sort who seems to need a slowly run race to show his best. He has a new jockey aboard today so a watching brief is advised. Weaver George rarely runs a bad race and he ran up a sequence this time last season. Capable on any ground he should run well for his usual pilot Graham Lee. Hugo De Grez is a course and distance winner whose only really poor run came last season over an inadequate 20 furlongs. This trip will suit better and a good run is expected. Kerry Lads is another who needs a slow pace to show her best but is unlikely to get what she needs in this competitive field.
