Verdict

This looks an interesting opener with a couple of horses out to restore reputations after disappointing efforts last time out. Chico Guapo was market leader at Redcar earlier in the month but could only finish ninth although he wasn't beaten far. Clearly he had been showing up well at home and might be worth another chance, as might Diamond Girl who didn't get the best of runs when only fourth at Catterick last time out. Tim Easterby's horses continue in fine form and Diamond Girl will have plenty of supporters bidding to recoup losses. Treaty Of Utrecht possibly found six furlongs beyond him last time and must be respected judged on too near misses earlier in the term, whilst newcomer Wathiq has plenty of pace in the pedigree and hails from a yard whose tilts at the ring rarely go unrewarded.
