    In depth

    Verdict

ALQAMAR (NAP) was a useful sort on the Flat for Charlie Appleby and he’s made a smooth transition to jumping. After a wide-margin win at Ayr, the seven-year-old is difficult to oppose here as his rider’s claim account for a large chunk of his penalty. Melgate Majeure won four times on Tapeta at Newcastle but is best watched making his hurdling debut. Blueberry Wine has looked nothing special but Fever Roque might have some scope and is preferred to Treasured Company and the fully-exposed Darkest Day.
