Verdict

FIRE LAKE has been highly tried in the past and that could some way to explaining why it’s taken so long for Milton Harris’s mare to get her head in front over hurdles. She proved that she copes with genuinely quick ground when prevailing in a bumper at Taunton and sets a stiff standard. Simply Red has rattled the crossbar on a couple of occasions since joining Donald McCain having formerly campaigned when conditions were considerably softer for Ollie Greenall. Redwood Queen kept on stoically when tried here last month so the bookmakers will be pricing with considerably more caution. Calliope was third on that occasion having unsuccessfully attempted to make all.
