In depth

Verdict

Charbrimal Minster has looked an improving type and is taken to win again at the expense of Dickie Lewis and Croc An Oir. The selection won a Hunter Chase before winning a class 3 claiming chase at Chepstow last month. He has only been raised one pound for winning that above average claimer last time and could still be well treated here at a track that he won at this time last year. If showing the same zest as he did last time he would have to go close. Dickie Lewis climbed up the weights last season winning four times in total. The handicapper has been very lenient towards him and has allowed him to win too many races. That said he has been well placed by his connections and can once again run well over this extended trip. Croc An Oir put a bad run on soft ground behind him at Plumpton to score at Uttoxeter on his favoured fast surface. He has been put up 13 pounds though for winning that race which looks harsh as he now runs off a mark near his very best of four years ago and is therefore best watched. So for the winner we return to Chabrimal Minster.
