In depth

Verdict

Canford Thompson won a Stratford handicap by 14l in October and a run on the Flat last month will have put him straight though he's 11lb higher. Court Jurado, a winning point-to-pointer, has been well beaten in novice company over timber and makes his handicap debut while Riviere Argentee was beaten in a seller last time. Trendsetter couldn't get close to the front pair over 2m6f here on Monday but at least was showing some improvement. RICHARD STRAUSS has been in poor form on the Flat but gained his only hurdles victory from this mark at Musselburgh in November so gets the nod in a weak handicap.
