In depth

Verdict

Birch Hill is a fascinating recruit to the chasing game as his career has been littered with problems and injuries throughout his early days with Nicky Henderson and since with Sophie Leech. He could well outclass this field if taking to this new discipline but RAISE A SPARK could prove a safer option. He has returned from nearly a year off with two runs, the latter of which revealed that the ability still remains when a close fourth in a Perth handicap hurdle. He'll prove hard to beat if able to repeat the best of last year's hurdling form on this chasing debut. The rest have plenty to find purely on hurdles' ratings but Oh Land Abloom and Sigurd are put forward as next best.
