Smart Illusion has improved for the switch to handicaps and followed up a second at Beverley with a win at Musselburgh. He wasn’t disgraced last time on Polytrack and is only a pound higher today, though has been done no favours by the draw. Call Him Al and Ghost Queen are others with double-figure draws but Sesame has been allotted stall four, though had every chance when favourite at Ffos Las last month. Conundrum was well backed at Beverley in August but looks ready for a step up in trip. ROCK UP IN STYLE has run a couple of fair races over this trip and a mark of 71 on his handicap debut looks manageable, especially with Andrew Breslin taking off 7lb. He’s preferred to stablemate French Twist and the equally-unexposed Dothraki.
