Verdict

GOLD RUNNER gave notice of an imminent maiden success when a close third over 2m3f here then went to Southwell last week and scored over this trip for which he has a 7lb penalty. Maison D'Or is the only course and distance winner in the line-up and can't have been right when running a shocker here in December. Seapoint has a career strike-rate of 1-39 but that victory came from exactly the same mark as here. Winning bumper Wbee has been running quite well without getting there while First Man completed a double before jumping poorly in heavy going at Wincanton
