In depth

Verdict

Proper gets the vote to win again ahead of Coconut Queen and Stepaside. Mick Channon has his stable in good form and his gelding was starting to look hard to win with until popping up just four days ago. He made all that day at Brighton and never looked like being beaten and whilst he has a penalty to contend with, this doesn't look a strong contest. Coconut Queen has won over course and distance before and should come on for her recent run. The drop in trip suits and she looks the main danger. Stepaside has had almost a year off but with the trainer's horses in form he must be watched in the market for support now upped in trip, whilst Ruthles Philly will need to improve on her recent run when well held in second. Proper did it well last time and is fancied to follow up under his penalty.
