In depth

Verdict

An impossible bumper to assess really, with little worthwhile to go on in the way of racecourse form. Best then to stick with those from yards who do well in this sphere and so we take a chance on Malt De Vergy to use his experience to outpoint That's Rhythm, Brave Rebellion and Fencote Gold. The selection has had just the one run to date, when going well for a long way at Hexham, before the hill took its toll. Len Lungo and Tony Dobbin are a formidable combination in bumper company and with improvement expected, he can score. Martin Todhunter also does well with his beginners and That's Rhythm, bred from some decent middle distance flat performers in France, is likely to be good enough to run into a place. As always, keep an eye on the market for any confidence in those, or indeed Fencote Gold, who returns after leg trouble, and Brave Rebellion who may also show up well. Our choice here then, is Malt De Vergy.
