Verdict
An ordinary maiden that can go to Kentucky Express, who edges preference over the exposed Farthing, while Constructor still has a bit more to offer and also makes it onto the shortlist of alternatives. Phi Phi put in an improved effort at Southwell last time and also merits consideration if he is backed accordingly. Ice Planet has shaped as if there is a race to be won with him somewhere along the line and, with the in-form Robert Winston doing the steering, should be capable of going close if he has trained on. A close eye on the betting is recommended where he is concerned. Farthing has been kept busy of late and deserves to find a race after a series of fair efforts. However, she is now in danger of becoming disappointing and others may slightly more appeal. None more so than Kentucky Express, who was starting to get the hang of things last summer and shapes as if a race like this is a formality for him. The form of his last start has worked out well and, with normal progression anticipated, Kentucky Express looks the one to beat at this stage.
