In depth

Verdict

Carlovian, three times a winner around here, will get a good ride from Joanna Mason and her mount won on soft ground here last month. Top Boy's two victories in the summer of last year were on fast going but HARD SOLUTION won a similar race at Hamilton last week and a 5lb penalty doesn't look enough to prevent a quick double. Roaring Rory is on a very long losing run and hasn't been seen since February but Royal Brave has the bonus of Serena Brotherton in the saddle. The latter has won 11 races and in much better class though has been beaten off this mark the last twice.
