Verdict
Piste Bleu has gone up 10lbs for her, eased down, four-length success over Silver Coin here over 1m4f last month and, while she should again have the measure of Tim Easterby's colt, she may struggle to beat Ryans Mistake, who could be ahead of the handicapper. Alan Swinbank's gelding is less exposed than his rivals and showed improved form for the step up in trip when second to the well-handicapped Party Ploy at Hamilton last time. With further improvement to come over the extra two furlongs today, the son of Dr Devious looks the one to beat. Amanda Perrett's Alchemystic has been given a chance by the handicapper and has to be respected despite the burden of 9st 7lb. The lightly raced Calamintha and Littleton Valar are others to consider but Ryans Mistake has plenty going for him and gets the vote in the finale.
