In depth

Verdict

The Roger Fisher-trained Highland Song is obviously no world beater, but showed enough on his debut to be given the nod over City For Conquest and Conciliate in this modest event. Whereas Coquet Island already looks to be in need of much further and, along with Flaming Cat is hard to fancy on what he has shown so far. Conciliate has been well held in both starts since he won a claimer at Wolverhampton last month and needs to pull something out of the hat to get the better of the selection. Still, he could be good value for the forecast slot and is worth noting if supported. City For Conquest benefited greatly when the favourite was withdrawn in a maiden here a fortnight ago. He responded well to the first time visor and should again run his race. However, Highland Song showed great maturity on his debut at Musselburgh and is expected to be hard to beat with that experience to back him up this time.
