        Verdict

        It can be worth giving Rectangle another chance in this company and he gets the nod over Telepathic, Inter Vision and Kangarilla Road. The last named has been expensive to follow since his three-year-old season and has only managed to force his head in front once in the intervening period. He was not match for the selection at Pontefract four days ago and has something to prove over this trip. Inter Vision is being kept busy and will be having his sixth start of the turf campaign if yesterday's exertions at Ripon have not left their toll. He too looks vulnerable beyond the minimum distance and, with a losing run stretching back to August 2003, he is not the most reliable option for a serious play. Neither is Telepathic, who comes here on the back of a couple of modest efforts. He did win at Hamilton at the start of last month, though, and holds place claims on that form. However, this distance can bring about a revival in fortunes for Rectangle, who has made the frame each time he has been tried over six furlongs. The five-year-old was unlucky to encounter a very well handicapped individual at Pontefract on Monday and can gain compensation here.
