In depth

Verdict

Gavin Cromwell is a superb placer of his horses and LEVER DU SOLEIL (NAP), who had been running well over hurdles, makes a quick reappearance having followed last week's victory at Musselburgh with another success at Ayr on Monday. He's out of the handicap here and penalised but still looks on a lenient enough mark to complete a quick hat-trick. Jumping Cats is 8lb higher than his victory at Chelmsford and both of his victories have been there. He's yet to reach a place in four starts on Turf and a bigger threat looks to be Burn Some Dust, who has the form to win this but prefers soft ground. Trouble And Strife won over 1m6f here in September and will have found 1m4f too short on her reappearance at Brighton last month while the three-year-old Lord Lamington is proving very inconsistent.
