Verdict

A similar contest to one which fell foul of the recent cold snap and again we think TWENTYNINEBLACK can land it, with Mr Syntax perhaps next best. The selection represents a yard that does very well in this sort of contest, and he ran well when beaten by just one opponent on his Ayr debut. Cut in the ground suited there and although this is a bit quicker under hoof there is no reason he shouldn't handle it, so we will nominate him. Mr Syntax was another debut runner-up when just held by the useful Vivona Hill over course and distance last month. The going remains much the same today and he can show up well. National Heritage should come on for his Newcastle introduction and this slightly better ground will probably suit, so keep an eye on the market. Richard Whitaker saddles a rare runner in this sphere in Kinetic Art, and he will surely be better for the experience of his first run, while Leo's Quest is coming along slowly and should be able to pick up a race in the future. For today though we'll take Twentynineblack to score.
