Verdict
The first division of the ten furlong handicap and it doesn't exactly make one look forward to the latter heat. SAMURAI WARRIOR at least comes here in good form and gets the nod over Mix N Match and I Certainly May. David Evans' gelding was a good third behind Smokey Rye at the end of last year, and then went two places better when a recent winner at Great Leighs. He has not won here before but has run some good races and is fancied to defy this new mark of 55. Rampant Ronnie needs a check in the betting as he returns from four months off, King Of The Beers is a course and distance winner but hasn't obliged recently, while Mix N Match ran his best race for some time recently and a repeat of that third at the track may see him go close to providing his first success. I Certainly May went close to shedding his maiden status last time, while Itsawindup has been fairly consistent in this grade since joining Sheena West. Not a good start, but it does provide a good opportunity for Samurai Warrior to win again.
