Verdict

PAM OAK has the most consistent form to his name and is taken to land this handicap chase at the expense of Nevada Red and Basoda who have both had jumping difficulties of late. The selection was last seen in the winners enclosure back in June winning off a mark of 100. Since then he has been knocking on the door off this eight pound higher mark. Although the handicapper may have him at somewhere near his best he is a good jumper and jumping can tend to win races. Nevada Red has some solid form to his name but he has not won since February. He looks weighted to his best for the time being and the fact that he took a heavy fall at Towcester last time out means he should be treated with some caution. Basoda could be the class act in the race but he is yet to get round over fences. He was unseated on his chase debut and took a nasty looking fall at Wetherby last time out. If putting in a clear round he will pose as a danger but from what we have seen so far there is no guarantee of that. So for the winner we return to Pams Oak.
