Verdict
The McCain yard has several fancied runners on today’s card and MORRAMAN looks the one to beat in this. Abbie McCain steered the former pointer to a comfortable victory at Musselburgh last time and he was earlier a close-up third over 2m5f at Sedgefield so should handle the drop in trip. Hexham runner-up Sweet Vinetta could make a race of it with her mares’ allowance and Ross Chapman’s claim while Calliope is probably capable of better. Skye Chief was second at Perth in April and Noble Warrior won a small race at Uttoxeter last month before failing to cope with a step up in class at Haydock.
