        Verdict

        A poor yet competitive handicap greets us here and the marginal vote lands in the saddle of FIRST SWALLOW ahead of Future Gem and Conjecture. The pick is now rated five pounds lighter than his only career victory and a return to racing in similar conditions last time seemed to bring about an improvement on recent efforts and if he builds on that he looks well treated. Future Gem should run a big race having found just one too good off this mark last time. She is also one win from one run at this track and likes a bit of cut in the ground. Conjecture is another that should challenge racing off a mark just a pound heavier than his last success while Jord could be interesting if he can run up to his all-weather mark but unfortunately he's shown nothing like that form on turf. This is definitely a minimum stakes race and First Swallow may just be first home
