Verdict
Another Club Royal and Sir Homo will have their supporters in an interesting race but we'll side with My Ace. My Ace has come back a better horse this year, courtesy of extensive schooling, blinkers and a tongue tie. She's been raised eight pounds for a Ludlow win but that will have done her confidence a lot of good. Another Club Royal won well on his debut an a rating of 82 for his handicap bow does not look excessive so he can go well for Ginger McCain. Sir Homo came into the season as a lightly-raced nine-year-old maiden. He remains as much but, having finished runner-up in each of his last two races - the last time at Wetherby - he's got every right to be competitive here. Len Lungo's Help Yourself won a Wetherby bumper on his debut in November 2001 but has been disappointing since. Owenabue Valley showed little under Rules in Ireland in a few outings but comes here on the back of a point-to-point win. The market ought to provide clues as to his chances, while Northern Minster has hardly set the world alight in his outings to date. Another Club Royal won well on his debut an a rating of 82 for his handicap bow does not look excessive so he can go well for Ginger McCain. Overall, then, we'll side with the rejuvenated My Ace.
