Verdict
Sharp Response has been here twice and won both and, though he's pulled up in both starts since returning from two year's off, has dropped to a very fair mark. Justforjames has won once in eight starts around here but would have finished closer last month but for his saddle slipping after the last. His stable companion Late Date gained a shock victory over hurdles here on New Year's Day but pulled up in his last five starts over fences last winter. Manwell's third place in the Class 2 Grand Sefton at Aintree in November would make him difficult to beat but he never got going and pulled up at Sedgefield a month later. INDY FIVE (NAP) made all for a comfortable victory in a Class 3 handicap at Doncaster last month before being outclassed in the Veterans' Final at Sandown where he wouldn't have handled the heavy going - he looks the one to beat.
