      Verdict

      Training a winner at Catterick may not be absolutely at the top of Hughie Morrison's agenda but he has a live chance of ending the drought with PRESENT ALCHEMY, who is selected as the best of a poor bunch drawn together for this ordinary maiden. Arjemis has already had a number of chances to win a race of this nature so is hardly a confident nomination to break his duck. However, he makes more appeal than habitual underachievers like Verinco and Tarus; so get the nod as the best alternative on this occasion. However, Present Alchemy, who sets the standard off a mark of 74, really does look to be capable of much better and, as he has been found a weak point in the racing calendar, the Cadeaux Genereux colt is confidently forwarded as the one to be with here.
