      Verdict

      Dusky Raider steps up a grade after landing a maiden handicap at Redcar and the second in that race has let the form down since. Becky The Thatcher is getting no nearer to shedding her maiden tag and Purple Magic probably needs further help from the handicapper. The latter's stable is also in the midst of a poor run but Argyle could interesting, though he appeared to find 1m6f too far last time at Sandown. SCARPETA has been second twice over this trip recently and remains in good heart. He's still creeping up the handicap but deserves another success.
