Verdict

Pat Shanahan has had some recent success at Wolverhampton with his raiders from Ireland so the presence of Helen's Armada, his only runner of the day, has to be respected though this is a very stiff test for a newcomer on the heavy ground. The Hooded Claw has generally raced at a much higher level and his close fifth in the Two Year Old Trophy at Redcar was a good performance though the ground was very fast that day. ANGEL FLORES was unfancied on her debut at Wolverhampton but made a very encouraging start and with more to offer she's given the nod. Captain Joe may prove best of the remainder.
