In depth

Verdict

Sobers can help to cement the relationship between his owner and trainer here and he is fancied to have too much of a turn of for the penalised According To Pete and Rothbury. The last named came up against some potentially useful types at Cheltenham earlier in the month and will find this grade of contest more to his liking. He is obviously held in some regard and is worth noting in the betting. According To Pete is respected but has a penalty to contend with after his win at Sedgefield last month. His yard have been in good form though and bold bid cannot be ruled out from him. Stablemates Larry The Tiger and Stagecoach Opal are others to bear in mind for future reference. However, Sobers makes the most appeal today, as he looked a winner waiting to happen with a solid display at Uttoxeter eighteen days ago. That run will have done him the power of good and he given another chance to shine today.
