Desert Lover can get the better of Magic Amour, Orchestration and Cayman Breeze in the opening event on the card. Desert Lover has done well since joining Richard Price from Dandy Nicholls, finishing runner-up at Southwell before going one better there a week later when stepped up to seven furlongs. The drop back in trip would be the only worry on this faster surface, but he lines up in form and should go close. Magic Amour scored over the course and distance recently, making the most of a low draw, but has more to do now from stall 10. Nevertheless he should run well along with Orchestration, who despite the trainer's view that he goes better at Southwell, has also won over track and trip in the past. Cayman Breeze got up close home to win over seven furlongs here last time and seems better suited to that distance than today's six furlongs, and so is passed over. In a fairly open contest, the progressive Desert Lover gets the vote.
