In depth

Verdict

This looks a competitive conditions event with several likely to improve in their second season. Andre Fabre’s filly Marbling is one of those having found only one too good over 7f at Compiegne in October on her only start, though that form hasn’t worked out. Hurricane Ivor had two runs over 5f here last summer, winning one and finishing last in the other. He should handle the extra furlong and Crew Dragon can’t be ignored as he came good over track and trip in November and has the beating of last year’s Deauville winner Ayaad on collateral form. SPIRIT INTIME showed speed on heavy going at Saint-Cloud on debut and duly got off the mark on Polytrack at Deauville at the end of last year. He’ll need more to follow up in this but could do well in sprints this season. Fantastic Diamond also has a chance on these terms.
