          Verdict

          The former Andrew Balding inmate Viscount Barfield won on heavy going at Deauville last summer and ended the last campaign with a good third at Fontainebleau. Despite top weight, he can’t be ignored while course and distance winner Wind Test may have a fitness advantage over some having finished second on the Polytrack in March. Film was strongly fancied at Cagnes-Sur-Mer in February but finished last. MUTTRAH FORT has a modest strike-rate but rarely runs a bad race and, with conditions to suit today, could make up for last year’s frustrations by taking this on his reappearance with jockey bookings suggesting he’s preferred to stable companion Slickteg. Further down the weights, Ross Castle and the ex-Harry Dunlop-trained Goldino Bello could also figure.
