Verdict
Watersmeet stayed on strongly to land a lower grade handicap over 1m4f at Wolverhampton and had little chance when dropped in trip in a much better race than this at Newbury. Seven times a winner, including five on the all-weather, he was well beaten on his only start at this trip but that was in last year's Ebor. CURBYOURENTHUSIASM (NAP) has been competing at a very high level and only gets into this handicap by virtue of a 2lb drop after three unplaced efforts in Group 2 Cup races. His narrow defeat by Clever Cookie in this year's Yorkshire Cup is the stand-out form here and he should get back on the winning trail. Winning Story made a successful debut in a 1m2f Newmarket maiden back in April but hasn't been seen since finishing last in the Lingfield Derby Trial the following month. Winning hurdler Great Hall comfortably won two Class 3 handicaps over 1m2f before a fair effort over that trip in a Listed contest but is now on his highest-ever mark while Haines failed to last out the 2m2f trip at Newmarket and has a good all-weather record.
