    Verdict

BASEM (NAP) found one too good sent over to Turkey last time but was only beaten a couple of lengths in the John Smith’s Cup at York before that. He has leading claims on that form and is preferred to Tony Curtis, whose best effort so far this year came over a mile in a Group 3 at Goodwood. The remainder all have something to find on these terms including course winner Daily Bulletin, who steps up in distance, though Rockspirit has won a Class 2 handicap at Yarmouth over today’s trip. The returning Mustajeer went close in the Listed Feilden Stakes at Newmarket back in April and is preferred to Michele Strogoff.
