Verdict

Lack of a proper pace can often be a problem with so few runners but that should not be the case here as both Lord Clenaghcastle and Tailor's Row attempted to make all last time. The latter went close to doing so when runner-up at Lingfield and finished ahead of Sans Souci Bay in the process but ALKASHAAF (NAP) makes more appeal. Archie Watson’s course winner was beaten only a length over today’s trip at Newcastle on his handicap bow and should make another bold bid dropping down a grade for this.
