In depth

Verdict

ALEXANDERTHEGREAT carries 6lb extra after landing a double with last week’s success at Newbury. But he won by six lengths on that occasion and the hat-trick beckons for the Haggas charge in this lower grade as he steps up in trip. Masters Apprentice lost the race in the stewards’ room having impeded a rival over 1m4f at Brighton last time while Lyford went close over 1m6f at Wolverhampton recently and Ginger Lady finished runner-up over track and trip. Ochos Rios disappointed last time but has a shout on his earlier second at Newbury.
