Verdict

Espresso Freddo landed a Class 6 handicap at Bath but is now 12lb higher after three successive second places, all on Turf. Chosen World has only ever won on Tapeta at Newcastle but wouldn't have been sent here unless thought capable of handling the track while Zefferino, a son of Frankel, has won three of his last four including his last two on the track and won't go down without a fight. JOHN CLARE was having his first all-weather start when just failing to catch Glory Awaits over the track and trip last month and can go one better as Colonel Slade struggled off 7lb higher after completing a double on Tapeta. There are plenty of others with chances in a wide-open handicap including Beepeecee, an easy winner at Lingfield, and Crimewave, who came within a short-head of losing his maiden tag at Kempton.
