In depth

Verdict

TONE THE BARONE hasn’t raced since winning at Ascot back in September but goes well fresh having also scored over track and trip on last summer’s reappearance. Stuart Williams’ charge looks to have leading claims ahead of Lord Riddiford, who beat Leodis Dream at Wolverhampton in November and has placed behind Nigel Nott here subsequently. The latter is upped in class for this while Marnie James has been off the track since 2019 but is capable at this level and debuts for new connections. Rovaniemi returned a disappointing favourite at Newcastle last time and faces a tougher task today.
