Verdict
Zwayyan and Fire Brigade finished practically upsides at the Shergar Cup meeting at Ascot and could both go well. War Glory was narrowly beaten at Haydock recently but is proving hard to win with while Glory Awaits won a lower grade race over track and trip before finishing last at Newmarket. PACTOLUS (NAP) has won four times here and went close again over course and distance last week when runner-up in a tougher handicap than this. Racing off the same mark today, he gets the vote. Unsuccessful in Hong Kong, Knife Edge has joined James Fanshawe on his return to the UK and was good enough to win the German 2000 Guineas back in 2016 when trained by Marco Botti. The latter also runs a new inmate in this in the shape of Azzeccagarbugli, a prolific winner in Italy.
