        Verdict

        COBBER KAIN made a winning start over course and distance at the start of the month. John Gosden’s charge looks to have little to fear from today’s opposition on what they’ve shown so far and can defy a penalty. Licorice may finish closer today fitted with cheekpieces and Costello looks another likely improver but Dutugamunu may prove a bigger threat. The latter can include a Group 2 winner among seven winning relatives and is preferred to Love Not Money of the newcomers.
