Verdict

This is an ultra-competitive renewal of the Pertemps Final and the tentative vote is given to DON'T PUSH IT; Green Mile, P'tit Fute, Buena Vista and Ballydub are the others for the shortlist. Jonjo O'Neill has his string in great form and Don't Push It has lost no caste in defeat on his last couple of starts. He only found Big Bucks too good last time here in January and he looks to have been laid out for this race. If Tony Martin's runners can find a bit of form then Green Mile could prove the biggest danger. He was disappointing at Naas last month but he looks to have got in here on a very handy mark and he is one to note in the market. P'tit Fute could not have been any more impressive when winning at Leopardstown back in January and this eight-year-old from the Francis Flood yard proved that day that this trip is well within his grasp. He is a smart prospect and he should go well. Ballydub has been let down by his jumping on his last couple of starts so he is one to have reservations about, although if he could get his act together over the obstacles he would have a chance. Buena Vista finished behind our selection last time but it is hard to see him turning the tables today, even though he does have a nice pull in the weights. Synchronised, Pennek and Scriptwriter are others that could have a say in the finish, but Don't Push it makes plenty of appeal and gets the vote.
