Verdict

Poker De Sivola must be one of the best maidens over fences having run some decent races in defeat and Ferdy Murphy's gelding warrants plenty of respect under Nina Carberry but marginal preference is for SHOULDHAVEHADTHAT, who gets the verdict ahead of Newbay Prop. The last mentioned looks the pick of Tony Martin's two runners ahead of Aggie's Lad and a market move for him would be of great interest. Character Building found just Butler's Cabin too good in the National Hunt Chase here 12 months ago and John Quinn's gelding has to be considered but he may be a shade too high in the weights. Charlie Swan's Oodachee has been in good heart of late and he has to be considered but may just be in the grip of the handicapper at present. Alexanderthegreat deserves to get his head in front having been running consistently well and the Venetia Williams-trained gelding has to be respected as does Le Duc, who represents Paul Nicholls. Preference though is for Nicky Henderson's Shouldhavehadthat, who looks to be going the right way, has ground conditions to suit and he is taken to confirm last time out Newbury form with Poker De Sivola.
