Verdict

L'AMI looks the bet in this cross country chase; Garde Champetre and Puntal rate as the obvious dangers. This 9-year-old has been off the track since April when he finished in mid-division at Punchestown. He has since joined Enda Bolger's yard and he will be suited by this step-up in trip. He also has ground conditions to suit and he has form at the track so he makes plenty of appeal. Garde Champetre does have the benefit of a recent run and he will relish these ground conditions. He won over this course and distance back in March and he holds strong claims. Puntal has the ability to win this but he has had his problems and he has been off the track since running in this race last year. He ran a blinder that day despite failing to settle so if he is fit enough to do himself justice then he could be a leading player. Petite Margot might not have the stamina for this trip so we are happy to take her on, and we will stick with L'Ami as the pick.
