Verdict

Last year’s winner Tully East bids for a repeat off a 10lb higher mark. He’s not been over-raced this campaign so should give a good account, though only one of the last 12 winners has carried 11st or more. The Pipe stable often lays one out for this and it’s no surprise that there has been market support for KING’S SOCKS. Second to Footpad in a Grade 1 over hurdles at Auteuil in 2016 and also placed in a Grade 3 over fences, he was understandably not given a hard time on his first start for the yard at Kempton but jumped really well and will have come on a bundle for the run. Movewiththetimes has been a shade disappointing over fences so far but a mark of 142 probably underestimates his ability and Barry Geraghty prefers him to Drumcliff. Pougne Bobbi came right back to form at Huntingdon and Last Goodbye is another recent winner. King's Odyssey has gone well here in the past and will handle the going so he makes more appeal than The Storyteller and Romain De Senam.
